Instructions
  1. Cook the Bacon: In a pot, heat over medium heat and cook diced bacon until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Transfer to a bowl, leaving fat in the pot.
  2. Sauté the Onion: In the same pot, add chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the Garlic: Lower heat, add minced garlic, and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant. Remove from pot.
  4. Prepare the Green Beans: Return pot to heat, add green beans, and pour in enough chicken broth to cover the beans.
  5. Simmer with Flavor: Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover, and simmer gently for 1 to 1.5 hours.
  6. Incorporate Bacon and Onion: Drain excess broth, and stir in bacon and onion mixture, heating for 1-2 minutes.
  7. Finish with Butter and Season: Stir in butter until melted, and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
