Step-by-Step Instructions for Simple Salisbury Steak
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix by hand until fully incorporated, about 2-3 minutes.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Shape the beef mixture into equal-sized patties, about 1/2 inch thick, and cook in the skillet for about 4-5 minutes on each side.
- In a separate bowl, mix the brown gravy mix with 1 cup of hot water until smooth, about 1-2 minutes.
- Pour the prepared gravy over the cooked patties in the skillet, and allow to simmer for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Once thickened, serve the Salisbury Steaks hot, spooning the gravy over each patty.
