Step-by-Step Instructions for Simple Salisbury Steak
  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix by hand until fully incorporated, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Shape the beef mixture into equal-sized patties, about 1/2 inch thick, and cook in the skillet for about 4-5 minutes on each side.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the brown gravy mix with 1 cup of hot water until smooth, about 1-2 minutes.
  5. Pour the prepared gravy over the cooked patties in the skillet, and allow to simmer for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
