  • 8 cups Fresh Spinach Leaves
  • 32 oz Ricotta Cheese Galbani recommended.
  • 12 oz Shredded Mozzarella Cheese Low-fat options work too.
  • 0.5 cups Grated Parmesan Cheese Can substitute with Pecorino Romano.
  • 3 large Eggs At room temperature.
For the Meat Sauce
  • 2 lbs Ground Beef Can swap with turkey or chicken.
  • 56 oz Canned Tomato Sauce/Puree Homemade preferred.
  • 1 medium Chopped Onion Shallots work for a milder taste.
  • 3 cloves Minced Garlic
  • 0.33 cups Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Salt and Pepper To taste.
For Flavoring
  • 0.125 tsp Garlic Powder Fresh garlic can be used.
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Parsley, chopped Dried can be used as substitute.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare Ricotta Mixture: In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, eggs, garlic powder, and parsley. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  2. Make Meat Sauce: Heat olive oil, sauté onion and garlic. Add ground beef, brown for about 10 minutes. Stir in tomato sauce, season with salt and pepper, simmer for 1 hour.

  3. Assemble Lasagna: Preheat oven to 350°F. Spread meat sauce on the bottom of the dish, layer lasagna pieces, ricotta mixture, spinach, and meat sauce alternately.

  4. Repeat Layers: Continue layering until all ingredients are used, finishing with meat sauce on top.

  5. Bake the Lasagna: Cover with foil and bake for 75 minutes. Remove foil, let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
