Step-by-Step Instructions
- Begin by dicing the yellow onion and mincing the garlic cloves. Gather all ingredients to streamline the cooking process.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, dried onion, and Dijon mustard. Mix gently and form into 4 patties.
- Heat the skillet over medium-high heat with olive oil and butter. Sear the patties for about 5 minutes on each side.
- Lower the skillet heat and add diced onion and minced garlic. Season with salt, pepper, and thyme, and sauté for about 3 minutes.
- Deglaze the pan with white wine, scraping up browned bits, and simmer for 2 minutes. Add in heavy cream, and bring gently to a boil before stirring in Parmesan and horseradish.
- Return the patties to the skillet and coat with sauce. Cover and simmer on low for about 5 minutes.
- Serve the patties warm, garnished with chives, over mashed potatoes or rice.

Notes
Opt for lean ground beef and avoid overmixing to keep patties tender. Ensure skillet is hot for the best sear.
