Cooking Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté the diced onion for 2-3 minutes until translucent.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the ground beef and brown it for about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart as it cooks.
- Stir in the tomato sauce, beef broth, and Italian seasoning; simmer for about 5 minutes.
- In a separate pot, cook the pasta according to package instructions, reducing time by 2 minutes.
- Mix the drained pasta with the beef mixture, adding mixed vegetables if desired.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and top with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes; then remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes.
- Allow to cool for about 5 minutes before serving.
