  • 1 Onion Diced medium
  • 2 cloves Garlic Fresh minced
  • 2 cups Pasta Elbow macaroni or whole-grain
  • 2 cups Cheddar Cheese Shredded
  • 15 ounces Tomato Sauce Canned or homemade
  • 1 cup Beef Broth Can substitute with vegetable broth
  • 1 tablespoon Italian Seasoning Fresh herbs can enhance flavor
  • 2 cups Mixed Vegetables Optional seasonal or frozen
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper Adjust to taste

Method
 

Cooking Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté the diced onion for 2-3 minutes until translucent.
  3. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the ground beef and brown it for about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  5. Stir in the tomato sauce, beef broth, and Italian seasoning; simmer for about 5 minutes.
  6. In a separate pot, cook the pasta according to package instructions, reducing time by 2 minutes.
  7. Mix the drained pasta with the beef mixture, adding mixed vegetables if desired.
  8. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  9. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes; then remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes.
  10. Allow to cool for about 5 minutes before serving.
