Step-by-Step Instructions for Pasta with Steak
  1. Step 1: Cook Pasta & Broccoli - Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add the linguine and cook for 8–10 minutes until al dente, then add the broccoli florets in the last three minutes. Drain and reserve ½ cup of pasta water.
  2. Step 2: Prepare Steak - Heat 2 tbsp of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season cubed steak with smoked paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. Sear for about 2–3 minutes on each side until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. Step 3: Make Sauce - In the same skillet, reduce to medium heat and add 6 tbsp of unsalted butter. Melt and bubble, add minced garlic, sauté for 1 minute. Stir in crushed red pepper flakes, Dijon mustard, and lemon juice. Mix in parsley and chives, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  4. Step 4: Combine Everything - Toss drained linguine and broccoli in the skillet, mixing gently. Gradually add reserved pasta water for desired sauce consistency. Return seared steak and sprinkle grated Parmesan, stirring until cheese melts and sauce thickens.
  5. Step 5: Plate and Serve - Serve immediately, garnished with extra Parmesan, parsley, and red pepper flakes if desired. Enjoy the comforting flavors of this family-favorite dish!
