Ingredients
Scale
1 ball pizza dough, about 450–500 g
200 g sliced ham
250 g shredded mozzarella cheese
50 g grated Parmesan cheese
1 tsp Italian seasoning
½ tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp black pepper
1 egg, beaten, for brushing
1 tbsp olive oil
250 ml marinara or pizza sauce (for serving)
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Extra Parmesan, optional
Red pepper flakes, optional
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 200°C. Line a large baking tray with parchment paper.
Place the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface and roll it into a rectangle approximately 30 × 40 cm.
Arrange the ham evenly over the dough, leaving about 2–3 cm clear around the edges. Sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan. Season with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and black pepper.
Starting from one of the long sides, tightly roll the dough into a log. Pinch the seam and both ends firmly closed.
Transfer the Stromboli to the prepared baking tray with the seam underneath.
Brush the top with olive oil, then brush with beaten egg for a beautiful golden crust. Cut 3–4 small diagonal slits across the top to allow steam to escape.
Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the crust is deeply golden and the cheese is melted.
Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing. This helps keep the melted cheese from spilling out.
Slice into thick pieces and sprinkle with fresh parsley and Parmesan. Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the filling.
Feel free to customize the filling with other ingredients like vegetables or different cheeses.
