Ingredients
Scale
1 lb sirloin steak
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
8 oz shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 tablespoon butter
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup diced tomatoes (canned or fresh)
1/4 cup chopped green onions
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
Start by seasoning the sirloin steak with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Let it sit for about 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest on a cutting board.
In the same skillet, add the butter and let it melt. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring to combine. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 3-4 minutes until it thickens slightly.
Stir in the diced tomatoes and cooked shrimp, allowing them to heat through for another 2 minutes.
Slice the rested steak against the grain and return it to the skillet, tossing it gently in the creamy sauce.
Garnish with chopped green onions and parsley before serving.
Notes
For a spicier kick, increase the cayenne pepper or add a dash of hot sauce to the creamy sauce.
Substitute the sirloin steak with chicken breast or pork tenderloin for a different protein option.
