A creamy and delicious Shrimp and Seafood Gratin that combines shrimp, scallops, and crab meat in a rich sauce topped with cheese and breadcrumbs.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 pound mixed seafood (such as scallops and crab meat)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the shrimp and mixed seafood, cooking until the shrimp turn pink, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream and add the Old Bay seasoning, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine and let simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Transfer the seafood mixture to a greased baking dish.
  7. In a separate bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and shredded Gruyère cheese. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the seafood.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or a few dashes of hot sauce to the seafood mixture.
  • Substitute the Gruyère cheese with mozzarella or cheddar for a different flavor profile.
