- 2 (6-ounce) salmon fillets
- 1/2 cup pecans, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.
- In a small bowl, mix together the maple syrup, Dijon mustard, olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder until well combined.
- Place the salmon fillets skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the maple mustard mixture generously over the top of each fillet.
- In another bowl, combine the chopped pecans and breadcrumbs. Press this mixture onto the top of the salmon fillets to create an even crust.
- Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and the crust is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For added flavor, try mixing in some fresh herbs like thyme or parsley into the pecan crust.
- Substitute the pecans with walnuts or almonds for a different nutty flavor.
