Ingredients
Scale
8 slices bacon
2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
1 tablespoon brown sugar
¼ teaspoon black pepper
1½ lbs ground beef
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
4 slices cheddar cheese
4 hamburger buns
1 tablespoon butter, for toasting
¼ cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
¼ teaspoon smoked paprika
Lettuce leaves
4 tomato slices
½ small red onion, thinly sliced
Dill pickle slices
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the bacon in a single layer.
Brush the bacon with maple syrup and sprinkle with brown sugar and black pepper.
Bake for 15–20 minutes, turning once, until crisp and caramelized. Watch closely during the last few minutes.
In a bowl, gently combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Divide into 4 equal portions and shape into patties.
Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4–5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
Place a cheddar slice on each patty during the final minute and cover briefly until melted.
Mix the mayonnaise, maple syrup, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and smoked paprika to make the sauce.
Melt the butter in a skillet and toast the cut sides of the buns until golden.
Spread maple sauce over the buns. Layer with lettuce, the cheeseburger patty, maple-glazed bacon, tomato, onion, and pickles.
Top with the other bun and serve immediately.
Notes
Adjust the level of sweetness by varying the amount of maple syrup.
For a spicier kick, add jalapeños or hot sauce to the burger.
Feel free to substitute the ground beef with turkey or plant-based alternatives for a different flavor.
