Ingredients
Scale
4 boneless pork chops, about 1 inch thick, or 4 bone-in pork chops
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon dried thyme
½ teaspoon dried oregano
¾ teaspoon salt, or to taste
½ teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, optional
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice, optional
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F. Lightly grease a baking dish or line a rimmed baking sheet with foil for easier cleanup.
Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels. Make a few small cuts through the fat around the edges to prevent curling.
In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, thyme, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
Brush both sides of the pork chops with olive oil and sprinkle the seasoning mixture evenly over each chop.
Arrange the chops in a single layer in the prepared baking dish, leaving space between them.
Scatter the butter pieces and minced garlic around the pork chops.
Bake for approximately 18–25 minutes, checking the internal temperature after 15 minutes. Cook to 145°F.
For a caramelized exterior, switch the oven to broil for 1–2 minutes, watching closely.
Transfer the pork chops to a plate and let them rest for 3–5 minutes. Spoon pan juices over the top and finish with parsley and lemon juice, if desired.
Serve hot with your favorite sides and drizzle remaining pan juices over the meat.
Notes
Ensure the pork chops are at room temperature before cooking for even cooking.
Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness.
Letting the pork chops rest is crucial for juicy results.
