Delicious and spicy Jalapeño Popper Turkey Burgers that are perfect for any barbecue or family dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • lbs (680 g) lean ground turkey (93% lean)
  • 3 oz (85 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 3 oz (85 g) sharp cheddar cheese, freshly shredded
  • 12 jalapeño peppers, seeded and finely minced (leave some seeds for extra heat)
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, cream cheese, shredded cheddar, jalapeños, green onions, garlic, panko breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into patties about ¾-inch thick. Press a slight indentation into the center of each patty to help prevent puffing during cooking.
  3. For stovetop cooking, heat a lightly oiled skillet or grill pan over medium heat and cook the burgers for 5–6 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). For grilling, grill over medium heat for 5–6 minutes per side, flipping once. For air frying, air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  4. Toast the buns if desired, place each burger on a bun, and add your favorite toppings such as lettuce, tomato, bacon, avocado, pickled jalapeños, or chipotle mayo.

Notes

  • For extra heat, leave some seeds in the jalapeños.
  • Feel free to customize toppings based on your preference.
  • Ensure the internal temperature of the turkey burgers reaches 165°F (74°C) for safe consumption.
