  • 2 pounds beef chops (about 1-inch thick)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Season both sides of the beef chops with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes if using.
  3. Sear the beef chops in the skillet for about 3-4 minutes on each side until they are browned.
  4. Transfer the seared beef chops to a baking dish. Pour the marinara sauce evenly over the chops.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese on top of the marinara sauce.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the beef is cooked to your desired doneness and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired.

  • For a lighter version, use chicken breasts instead of beef chops and follow the same cooking instructions.
