- 4 salmon fillets, about 6 oz each
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ cup honey
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, optional
- 2 green onions, sliced
- Pat the salmon fillets dry and season lightly with salt and black pepper.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil.
- Place the salmon skin-side down and cook for 4–5 minutes.
- Carefully flip the salmon and cook for another 2–3 minutes.
- Add the butter and pour the honey-soy mixture into the skillet. Simmer for 2–3 minutes, spooning the glaze over the salmon.
- Mix the cornstarch and water in a small bowl. Add it to the skillet and stir gently until the glaze thickens and becomes glossy.
- Continue cooking until the salmon reaches 145°F (63°C) internally.
- Spoon the thickened glaze over the salmon and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
- Serve immediately with steamed rice, vegetables, or noodles.
Notes
- Keep the heat at medium or medium-low once the honey glaze is added. High heat can cause the honey to burn before the salmon is fully cooked.
