Delicious and sticky honey garlic chicken wings that are perfect for any gathering or game day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top.
  2. In a large bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, rice vinegar, ground ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Whisk until well mixed.
  3. Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss them in the marinade until fully coated. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes at room temperature, or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator.
  4. Arrange the marinated wings in a single layer on the wire rack. Reserve the remaining marinade for basting.
  5. Bake the wings in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, flipping them halfway through. Baste with the reserved marinade during the last 10 minutes of cooking.
  6. Once the wings are golden brown and crispy, remove them from the oven and let them rest for 5 minutes.
  7. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, broil the wings for an additional 2-3 minutes after baking.
  • Try adding a tablespoon of sriracha or your favorite hot sauce to the marinade for a spicy kick.
