A delightful and crispy appetizer, Homemade Crab Rangoon is filled with a creamy mixture of crab and cheese, perfect for dipping.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 6 oz imitation crab or lump crab, finely chopped
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 24 wonton wrappers
  • Oil, for frying
  • Pale green avocado sweet chili sauce, for dipping

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, crab, green onions, soy sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper until well combined.
  2. Place about 1 teaspoon of filling in the center of each wonton wrapper.
  3. Moisten the edges with water, fold the wrapper into your preferred shape, and press firmly to seal.
  4. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry the rangoon in batches for 2 to 3 minutes, turning once, until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Serve hot with the dipping sauce.
