Ingredients
Scale
2 pounds beef short ribs
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup rice vinegar
2 tablespoons sesame oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
1/4 cup green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
In a large bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes until well combined.
Place the beef short ribs in a large baking dish or Dutch oven. Pour the marinade over the ribs, making sure they are well coated.
Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil or a lid and bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the meat is tender and easily pulls away from the bone.
Remove the ribs from the oven and carefully uncover. Transfer the ribs to a serving platter.
Pour the remaining sauce into a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 10 minutes, or until the sauce thickens slightly.
Drizzle the thickened sauce over the short ribs and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
For a spicier kick, add more red pepper flakes or a dash of sriracha to the marinade.
You can also substitute the beef short ribs with pork ribs for a different flavor profile.
Serve with steamed rice or noodles to soak up the delicious sauce.
