Cumin Lamb Noodles is a flavorful dish featuring ground lamb and egg noodles, seasoned with aromatic spices and garnished with fresh herbs.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground lamb
  • 8 ounces egg noodles
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the ground lamb, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Add the ground cumin, ground coriander, and red pepper flakes to the skillet. Stir well to combine and cook for 1-2 minutes to toast the spices.
  6. Pour in the soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Stir to combine and let simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Add the cooked egg noodles to the skillet and toss everything together until the noodles are well coated with the sauce and heated through.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions and chopped cilantro.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add more red pepper flakes or a drizzle of sriracha before serving.
  • You can substitute ground lamb with ground beef or turkey for a different flavor profile.
  • For a vegetarian option, replace the meat with sautéed mushrooms and tofu.
