Ingredients
Scale
2 pounds chicken wings
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed if possible)
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon water
1 teaspoon grated ginger
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top.
In a large bowl, toss the chicken wings with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and vegetable oil until evenly coated.
Arrange the wings in a single layer on the wire rack. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway through.
While the wings are baking, prepare the orange sauce by combining orange juice, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
Mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl until smooth, then add to the saucepan and stir well. Cook until the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
Once the wings are done baking, toss them in the orange sauce until well coated.
Return the sauced wings to the baking sheet and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes to caramelize the sauce.
Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the wings in the seasoning for at least an hour or overnight before baking.
Try adding a splash of sriracha to the orange sauce for a spicy kick.
