Ingredients
Scale
2 large chicken breasts, cut into thin strips
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 large eggs, beaten
1 cup panko breadcrumbs
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Vegetable oil for frying
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup sour cream
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F.
In a shallow dish, combine flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
In another shallow dish, place the beaten eggs.
In a third shallow dish, add panko breadcrumbs.
Dredge each chicken strip in the flour mixture, shaking off excess, then dip in the beaten eggs, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs.
Carefully place the coated chicken strips in the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
Remove the chicken fries from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
While the chicken is frying, prepare the creamy garlic sauce by mixing mayonnaise, sour cream, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, black pepper, and parsley in a bowl until well combined.
Serve the crispy chicken fries hot with the creamy garlic sauce on the side for dipping.
Notes
For a spicier kick, add cayenne pepper to the flour mixture.
For a healthier version, bake the chicken fries at 400°F for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through until crispy.
