Crispy Air Fryer Salmon Bites are a delicious and healthy appetizer or main dish, featuring tender salmon coated in a crunchy panko and Parmesan crust, all made effortlessly in an air fryer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450 g) skinless salmon fillet, cut into 2.5 cm cubes
  • 1½ tablespoons (22 mL) olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon (5 mL) garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon (5 mL) smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon (2.5 mL) onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon (2.5 mL) salt
  • ¼ teaspoon (1.25 mL) black pepper
  • ½ cup (50 g) panko breadcrumbs
  • ¼ cup (25 g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon (2.5 mL) dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon (15 mL) fresh lemon juice
  • Fresh parsley or green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the salmon: Pat the salmon dry and cut it into evenly sized 2.5 cm cubes.
  2. Season: Place the salmon in a bowl. Add olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and oregano. Toss gently until evenly coated.
  3. Add the crispy coating: Mix the panko breadcrumbs and Parmesan in a shallow bowl. Press each salmon piece into the mixture, coating all sides.
  4. Preheat the air fryer: Preheat to 400°F (200°C) for about 3 minutes.
  5. Air fry: Arrange the salmon bites in a single layer, leaving space between them for air circulation. Air fry for 7–9 minutes, turning or shaking halfway through.
  6. Check doneness: The salmon should be golden and crisp outside and flaky inside. For food safety, cook salmon to an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  7. Finish: Drizzle with fresh lemon juice and garnish with parsley or green onions.
  8. Serve: Enjoy immediately with rice, roasted vegetables, salad, or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Ensure the salmon is cut into uniform pieces for even cooking.
  • Adjust cooking time based on the size of the salmon cubes and your air fryer model.
  • For extra flavor, consider adding herbs or spices to the breadcrumb mixture.
