Ingredients
Scale
3 pounds chicken drumsticks
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, salt, black pepper, paprika, and minced garlic. Add the chicken drumsticks and toss until they are evenly coated with the mixture.
Place the drumsticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or in a large baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
While the chicken is baking, prepare the creamy sauce. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the heavy cream, chicken broth, thyme, parsley, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir well and let it simmer for about 5-7 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly.
After the chicken has baked for 30 minutes, remove it from the oven and pour the creamy sauce over the drumsticks.
Return the baking sheet or dish to the oven and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley.
Notes
For a crispy skin, broil the chicken for the last 3-5 minutes of cooking.
You can substitute chicken thighs for drumsticks if preferred, adjusting the cooking time as needed.
