Ingredients
Scale
2 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
Add the granulated sugar and vanilla extract to the cream cheese, mixing until well combined.
Beat in the eggs, one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the cream cheese mixture, mixing until just combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Allow the squares to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Once cooled, dust the top with powdered sugar before cutting into squares.
Notes
For a fruity twist, add 1 cup of fresh blueberries or raspberries to the batter before baking.
Substitute the vanilla extract with almond extract for a different flavor profile.
