Crab Imperial Delight is a rich and creamy baked dish featuring lump crab meat, mayonnaise, and a blend of seasonings, topped with cheddar cheese and breadcrumbs for a delightful crunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound lump crab meat, picked over for shells
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, lemon juice, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix well until smooth.
  3. Gently fold in the lump crab meat and chopped green onions, being careful not to break up the crab too much.
  4. Transfer the crab mixture to a greased baking dish (about 9×9 inches).
  5. In a separate bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with melted butter and shredded cheddar cheese. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the crab mixture in the baking dish.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the mixture is heated through.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a few dashes of hot sauce to the crab mixture before baking.
  • Substitute the cheddar cheese with a blend of your favorite cheeses, such as Monterey Jack or pepper jack, for a different flavor profile.
