Ingredients
Scale
1 lb sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
1½ teaspoons Cajun seasoning
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon smoked paprika
¼ teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon butter
12 oz penne pasta
2 tablespoons butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup heavy cream
4 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
½ cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1½ tablespoons ranch seasoning
1 tablespoon honey
½ teaspoon Cajun seasoning
¼ teaspoon black pepper
¼ cup reserved pasta water, as needed
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
Cook the penne according to the package directions until al dente. Reserve ¼ cup pasta water, then drain.
Season the steak with Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak and sear for 2–3 minutes per side, until browned and cooked to your preferred doneness. Remove and set aside.
Reduce the heat to medium and add the butter. Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
Pour in the heavy cream and stir in the cream cheese until smooth.
Add the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese. Stir until melted and creamy.
Mix in the ranch seasoning, honey, Cajun seasoning, and black pepper.
Add the cooked penne and toss until thoroughly coated. Add a splash of reserved pasta water if the sauce is too thick.
Return the steak to the skillet and gently toss everything together.
Cook for another 1–2 minutes to warm the steak through.
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
Adjust the level of Cajun seasoning to taste for more or less heat.
Feel free to substitute the steak with chicken or shrimp for a different protein option.
This dish is best served fresh but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
