Ingredients
Scale
8 ounces fresh button mushrooms, cleaned and stems trimmed
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1/4 cup bourbon
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
In a large skillet, heat the butter and olive oil over medium heat until melted and hot.
Add the cleaned mushrooms to the skillet and sauté for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they begin to brown.
Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
Carefully pour in the bourbon, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir to combine and allow the mixture to simmer for about 3-4 minutes, or until the liquid has reduced slightly.
Season with black pepper and salt, stirring well to incorporate.
Remove from heat and garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes when sautéing the garlic.
Substitute the button mushrooms with cremini or shiitake mushrooms for a deeper flavor profile.
