Ingredients
Scale
2 lb ground beef
1 cup plain breadcrumbs
2 large eggs
½ cup milk
½ medium onion, finely diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1 tsp garlic powder
½ tsp onion powder
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
8–10 slices thin-cut bacon
½ cup barbecue sauce
¼ cup ketchup
3 tbsp packed brown sugar
1 tbsp honey
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
½ tsp smoked paprika
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a large baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
In a large bowl, combine breadcrumbs, eggs, milk, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
Add ground beef and mix gently until combined, avoiding overmixing.
Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it on the prepared baking sheet.
Lay bacon slices over the meatloaf, tucking the ends underneath.
In a small bowl, whisk together barbecue sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, honey, Worcestershire sauce, and smoked paprika.
Brush half of the glaze over the meatloaf.
Bake uncovered for 45 minutes, then brush with remaining glaze and bake for another 15–25 minutes until the center reaches 160°F.
If needed, broil for 1–3 minutes for extra crispiness.
Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Use thin-cut bacon for better crispiness.
Avoid using a deep loaf pan to allow grease to drain.
Apply glaze twice for a richer coating.
Watch the glaze closely to prevent burning.
Let the meatloaf rest to hold together when sliced.
