Ingredients
Scale
1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend)
8 slices of bacon
4 slices of cheddar cheese
4 hamburger buns
1 medium onion, sliced
1 cup lettuce, shredded
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
1 tablespoon pickle relish
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat.
While the grill is heating, form the ground beef into 8 equal patties, about 1/4 pound each. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
In the same skillet, cook the beef patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each, and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patties are cooked to your desired doneness.
While the patties are cooking, mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and pickle relish in a small bowl to create the special sauce.
Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
Assemble the burgers by placing two patties on the bottom half of each bun, followed by two slices of bacon, a few onion slices, and a generous amount of lettuce. Drizzle with the special sauce and top with the other half of the bun.
Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious double bacon cheeseburgers!
Notes
For a spicy kick, add sliced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the special sauce.
Swap out the cheddar cheese for pepper jack or blue cheese for a different flavor profile.
