- 1 ½ pounds ribeye steak
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried)
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 lemon, juiced
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Take the ribeye steak out of the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.
- Pat the steak dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Add the steak to the skillet and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare.
- While the steak is cooking, melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Add the minced garlic, rosemary, and thyme, stirring until fragrant.
- Once the steak is cooked, remove it from the skillet and let it rest for 5-10 minutes.
- Drizzle the garlic butter mixture over the steak and squeeze fresh lemon juice on top.
- Slice the steak against the grain and serve, garnished with chopped parsley.
Notes
- For an extra kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the garlic butter mixture.
- Try marinating the steak in a mixture of soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic for a few hours before cooking for added flavor.
