Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ pounds ribeye steak
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Take the ribeye steak out of the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  2. Pat the steak dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
  3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  4. Add the steak to the skillet and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare.
  5. While the steak is cooking, melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Add the minced garlic, rosemary, and thyme, stirring until fragrant.
  6. Once the steak is cooked, remove it from the skillet and let it rest for 5-10 minutes.
  7. Drizzle the garlic butter mixture over the steak and squeeze fresh lemon juice on top.
  8. Slice the steak against the grain and serve, garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes

  • For an extra kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the garlic butter mixture.
  • Try marinating the steak in a mixture of soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic for a few hours before cooking for added flavor.
