Texas Twinkies Egg Rolls with Honey are a delicious fusion of sweet and savory flavors, featuring a filling of smoked brisket, cream cheese, and cheddar cheese, all wrapped in crispy egg rolls and drizzled with honey.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb smoked brisket, shredded
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 12 jalapeños, finely diced (optional but traditional)
  • 1214 egg roll wrappers
  • Water (for sealing)
  • Oil for frying
  • Honey, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix brisket, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and jalapeños until well combined.
  2. Place 2–3 tablespoons of filling in the center of each wrapper.
  3. Fold bottom corner over filling, fold in sides, roll tightly, and seal edge with water.
  4. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry egg rolls in batches for 3–4 minutes, turning until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Drain on paper towels.
  7. Drizzle with honey or serve honey on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • For extra heat, leave the seeds in the jalapeños.
  • Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying to achieve a crispy texture.
  • These egg rolls can be made ahead of time and frozen before frying.
