A delicious and easy-to-follow recipe for Texas Roadhouse-style pork chops that will impress your guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 bone-in pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill or a large skillet over medium-high heat. If using a grill, make sure the grates are clean and lightly oiled.
  2. Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. This helps achieve a nice sear.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using).
  4. Rub the olive oil over the pork chops, then evenly coat both sides with the spice mixture.
  5. Place the pork chops on the grill or in the skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes on one side without moving them, until they develop a nice crust.
  6. Flip the pork chops and add the butter to the skillet or brush it over the chops on the grill. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F.
  7. Remove the pork chops from the heat and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For a smoky flavor, try adding a few drops of liquid smoke to the spice mix.
  • Serve with a side of grilled vegetables or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
  • For a sweeter twist, marinate the pork chops in apple cider vinegar and brown sugar for 30 minutes before cooking.
