Ingredients
Scale
1 ½ cups pecan halves
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
½ cup unsalted butter, melted
4 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ teaspoon salt
6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt. Whisk until well blended.
Stir in the chocolate chips and pecan halves until evenly distributed.
Pour the filling into the unbaked pie crust, spreading it evenly.
Bake in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is golden brown. A knife inserted in the center should come out clean.
Remove from the oven and let cool for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the filling to set properly.
Notes
For a richer flavor, try adding 1 tablespoon of espresso powder to the filling.
You can substitute the semi-sweet chocolate chips with dark chocolate for a more intense chocolate taste.
