A delicious and easy recipe for Teriyaki Steak Bites, perfect for a quick meal or appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds (optional)
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Add the steak cubes to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
  3. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water until smooth. Set aside.
  4. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off. Reserve the marinade for later.
  5. Add the steak bites to the skillet in a single layer, cooking for about 3-4 minutes on each side until browned and cooked to your desired doneness.
  6. Pour the reserved marinade into the skillet and bring to a simmer. Stir in the cornstarch mixture and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  7. Remove from heat and sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, add a teaspoon of sriracha or red pepper flakes to the marinade.
  • Serve the steak bites over rice or with steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
