Ingredients
Scale
2 racks of baby back ribs (about 4 pounds total)
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite brand)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better tenderness.
In a small bowl, mix together paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper.
Rub the spice mixture evenly over both sides of the ribs.
Place the ribs on a large baking sheet lined with aluminum foil, bone side down.
Cover the ribs tightly with another piece of aluminum foil.
Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, until the ribs are tender.
Remove the ribs from the oven and carefully take off the top layer of foil.
Brush a generous amount of barbecue sauce over the ribs.
Return the ribs to the oven uncovered and bake for an additional 30 minutes, allowing the sauce to caramelize.
Let the ribs rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, try marinating the ribs in the spice mixture overnight before baking.
If you prefer a smoky flavor, add a few drops of liquid smoke to the barbecue sauce.
