Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup pepperoni slices
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a large circle, about 12 inches in diameter.
  3. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese around the edge of the dough, about 1 inch from the edge.
  4. Fold the edge of the dough over the cheese and press to seal, creating a stuffed crust.
  5. Transfer the dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the center of the dough, leaving the stuffed crust edge clear.
  7. Arrange the pepperoni slices on top of the sauce.
  8. Sprinkle dried oregano, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes over the pepperoni.
  9. Brush the crust with olive oil and sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese on top.
  10. Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush it over the crust for a golden finish.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
  12. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing.

Notes

  • For a healthier option, use whole wheat pizza dough and low-fat cheese.
  • Experiment with different toppings like bell peppers, mushrooms, or olives for added flavor and variety.
