A delicious recipe for sticky chicken wings that are perfect for any gathering or game day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup. Place a wire rack on top of the baking sheet.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes until well combined.
  3. Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss them in the marinade until they are evenly coated. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes at room temperature, or refrigerate for up to 2 hours for more flavor.
  4. Arrange the marinated chicken wings in a single layer on the wire rack. Reserve the leftover marinade for basting.
  5. Bake the wings in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. After 25 minutes, remove them from the oven and brush with the reserved marinade.
  6. Return the wings to the oven and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy. For extra crispiness, you can broil them for the last 2-3 minutes, keeping a close eye to prevent burning.
  7. Once done, remove the wings from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, add more red pepper flakes or toss the wings in your favorite hot sauce before serving.
  • Try using different types of sweeteners like maple syrup or agave nectar for a unique flavor twist.
