S’mores Hand Pies are a delightful dessert that combines the classic flavors of s’mores in a portable, flaky pastry.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1/4 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the chilled butter and mix with a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the granulated sugar.
  2. Gradually add cold water, one tablespoon at a time, mixing until the dough comes together. Form the dough into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. On a floured surface, roll out the chilled dough to about 1/8 inch thick. Cut out circles using a 4-inch round cutter.
  5. Place half of the circles on the prepared baking sheet. On each circle, layer a tablespoon of chocolate chips, a tablespoon of mini marshmallows, and a teaspoon of graham cracker crumbs.
  6. Top each filled circle with another dough circle and seal the edges by crimping with a fork. Brush the tops with the beaten egg.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar, if desired.

Notes

  • For a twist, add a tablespoon of peanut butter or Nutella along with the chocolate chips for a richer flavor.
  • Experiment with flavored chocolate chips, such as mint or caramel, to create unique hand pies.
