Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large round sourdough bread loaf (about 1 pound)
  • 8 ounces cooked shrimp, peeled and chopped
  • 8 ounces crab meat, shredded
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Cut the top off the sourdough bread loaf and hollow out the inside, leaving about a 1-inch thick shell. Reserve the bread pieces for later use.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped shrimp, crab meat, cream cheese, mayonnaise, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  4. Spoon the seafood mixture into the hollowed-out bread bowl, packing it in gently.
  5. Place the filled bread bowl on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is hot and bubbly.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
  7. Serve warm with the reserved bread pieces for dipping.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a teaspoon of hot sauce or diced jalapeños to the seafood mixture.
  • Substitute the shrimp and crab with your favorite seafood, such as lobster or scallops, for a different flavor profile.
