Ingredients
Scale
1 pound ground breakfast sausage
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded pepper jack cheese
1 can (10 ounces) diced tomatoes with green chilies, drained
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
Instructions
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground sausage until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks. Drain excess fat if necessary.
Reduce the heat to low and add the softened cream cheese to the skillet, stirring until melted and well combined with the sausage.
Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and pepper jack cheese until melted and creamy.
Add the drained diced tomatoes with green chilies, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using). Mix well and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
Serve warm with tortilla chips, crackers, or fresh veggies.
Notes
For a lighter version, substitute turkey sausage for ground breakfast sausage.
Add a splash of hot sauce or a few jalapeño slices for an extra kick.
