Ingredients
Scale
3 ripe bananas, mashed
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup salted caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
Sea salt for topping
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas and melted butter. Mix until well combined.
Add the granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract to the banana mixture. Stir until smooth.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the baking soda, salt, and flour. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Fold in the salted caramel sauce and nuts (if using) until evenly distributed.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Drizzle a little extra salted caramel sauce on top and sprinkle with sea salt.
Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For a richer flavor, try adding 1 teaspoon of cinnamon to the dry ingredients.
To make it gluten-free, substitute all-purpose flour with a 1:1 gluten-free baking blend.
