2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
1 medium banana, sliced
1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or any milk of choice)
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon lemon zest
1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
1 teaspoon ground turmeric
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 cup spinach (optional for added nutrients)
Ice cubes (optional, for a thicker smoothie)
Instructions
In a blender, combine the blueberries, banana, almond milk, lemon juice, lemon zest, honey or maple syrup (if using), turmeric, ginger, and spinach (if using).
Blend on high until smooth and creamy. If you prefer a thicker consistency, add ice cubes and blend again until desired texture is reached.
Taste the smoothie and adjust sweetness if necessary by adding more honey or maple syrup.
Pour the smoothie into glasses and enjoy immediately for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
For a protein boost, add a scoop of your favorite protein powder or a tablespoon of chia seeds.
