Quick Chicken Cabbage Stir-Fry is a healthy and delicious dinner option that combines tender chicken with fresh vegetables, all tossed in a savory sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced into thin strips
  • 4 cups green cabbage, shredded
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced (any color)
  • 2 carrots, julienned
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the sliced chicken to the skillet and season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently, until the chicken is cooked through and no longer pink.
  3. Add the minced garlic and ginger to the skillet and stir for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the shredded cabbage, sliced bell pepper, and julienned carrots to the skillet. Stir-fry for 3-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.
  5. Pour in the soy sauce and oyster sauce (if using), and drizzle with sesame oil. Toss everything together to combine and heat through for another 1-2 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions before serving.

Notes

  • For added flavor, marinate the chicken in soy sauce, ginger, and garlic for 30 minutes before cooking.
  • Substitute the chicken with tofu or shrimp for a different protein option.
  • You can also add other vegetables like broccoli or snap peas for extra nutrition.
