A delicious and hearty Pork Lasagna recipe that combines layers of ground pork, ricotta, mozzarella, and marinara sauce for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground pork until browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in the marinara sauce, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, mix the ricotta cheese, egg, and half of the grated Parmesan cheese until well combined.
  5. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  6. In a 9×13 inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of the pork sauce on the bottom.
  7. Layer 4 lasagna noodles over the sauce, followed by half of the ricotta mixture, half of the remaining pork sauce, and a third of the mozzarella cheese.
  8. Repeat the layering process: 4 noodles, remaining ricotta mixture, remaining pork sauce, and another third of the mozzarella cheese.
  9. Top with the final 4 noodles, the remaining marinara sauce, the rest of the mozzarella cheese, and the remaining Parmesan cheese.
  10. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  11. Let the lasagna cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.

Notes

  • For a healthier version, substitute ground turkey or chicken for the pork and use whole wheat lasagna noodles.
  • Add sautéed vegetables like spinach, mushrooms, or zucchini between the layers for extra flavor and nutrition.
