Ingredients
Scale
1 pound ground beef
1 small onion, diced
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup milk
4 large eggs
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup mustard
1/2 cup pickles, chopped (optional)
Chopped green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish with cooking spray or butter.
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until the beef is browned and the onion is translucent, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess grease.
Stir in garlic powder, salt, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, and mustard. Mix well and remove from heat.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, flour, and baking powder until smooth.
Spread the beef mixture evenly in the prepared pie dish. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the beef.
Pour the egg mixture over the beef and cheese, ensuring it covers everything evenly.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the pie is set and golden brown on top.
Remove from the oven and let it cool for 5-10 minutes. Garnish with chopped pickles and green onions if desired before serving.
Notes
For a spicier kick, add diced jalapeños to the beef mixture.
Swap out the cheddar cheese for pepper jack or mozzarella for a different flavor profile.
