A delicious twist on the classic Philly cheesesteak, these Sloppy Joes are packed with flavor and easy to make.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and bell pepper, cooking until softened, about 5 minutes.
  2. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and fully cooked, about 7-10 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  4. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes to combine flavors.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the shredded provolone cheese until melted and well mixed.
  6. Toast the hamburger buns if desired. Spoon the cheesesteak mixture onto the bottom half of each bun, then top with the other half. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add diced jalapeños or a splash of hot sauce to the meat mixture.
  • You can also substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
