- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 medium green bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
- 4 hamburger buns
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and bell pepper, cooking until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and fully cooked, about 7-10 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes to combine flavors.
- Remove from heat and stir in the shredded provolone cheese until melted and well mixed.
- Toast the hamburger buns if desired. Spoon the cheesesteak mixture onto the bottom half of each bun, then top with the other half. Serve immediately.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add diced jalapeños or a splash of hot sauce to the meat mixture.
- You can also substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
