In a bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Form into four equal patties.
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty to melt.
While the patties are cooking, mix together all the secret sauce ingredients in a small bowl and set aside.
In another skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Place two slices of rye bread in the skillet and spread a generous amount of secret sauce on each.
Top with a cheese-covered patty, then add another slice of rye bread on top. Grill until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side. Repeat with the remaining ingredients.
Cut the patty melts in half and serve with extra secret sauce on the side.
Notes
For a spicier kick, add a few dashes of hot sauce to the secret sauce.
