Oven Fried Feta Rolls with Chili Honey are irresistible, combining crispy phyllo dough with a savory feta and spinach filling, drizzled with a sweet and spicy chili honey.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 8 sheets phyllo dough
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon red chili flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine the crumbled feta cheese, chopped spinach, oregano, garlic powder, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Lay one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean surface and brush it lightly with melted butter. Place another sheet on top and brush with more butter. Repeat this process until you have four layers.
  4. Cut the layered phyllo dough into 4 equal strips.
  5. Place a tablespoon of the feta mixture at one end of each strip. Fold the sides over the filling and roll it up tightly to form a roll.
  6. Place the rolls seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with any remaining melted butter.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  8. While the rolls are baking, prepare the chili honey by combining honey and red chili flakes in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir until warmed and well mixed.
  9. Once the rolls are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. Drizzle with chili honey before serving.

Notes

  • For a twist, try adding sun-dried tomatoes or olives to the feta mixture for extra flavor.
  • You can also substitute the honey with maple syrup for a different sweetness profile.
