Delicious and satisfying Old-School Pizza Burgers that combine the flavors of pizza and burgers in one mouthwatering dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Divide the beef mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty.
  4. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they are browned and cooked through.
  5. Place the cooked patties on a baking sheet. Spoon marinara sauce over each patty, then sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Toast the hamburger buns in the oven for the last 2-3 minutes of cooking time.
  8. Assemble the burgers by placing each cheesy patty on a toasted bun. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add crushed red pepper flakes to the beef mixture or use spicy marinara sauce.
  • Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option, and consider adding sliced pepperoni on top for extra flavor.
