A flavorful and savory dish featuring tender pork tenderloin marinated in a delicious blend of soy sauce, brown sugar, and spices.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds pork tenderloin
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, hoisin sauce, minced garlic, minced ginger, sesame oil, black pepper, and red pepper flakes until well combined.
  3. Place the pork tenderloin in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the pork, ensuring it is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best flavor.
  4. Remove the pork from the marinade and place it in a baking dish. Reserve the marinade for later.
  5. Bake the pork in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
  6. While the pork is baking, pour the reserved marinade into a small saucepan and bring it to a boil over medium heat. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 5-7 minutes, or until it thickens slightly.
  7. Once the pork is done, let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve the sliced pork drizzled with the thickened marinade and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add more red pepper flakes or a splash of sriracha to the marinade.
  • Serve with steamed rice or stir-fried vegetables for a complete meal.
